Privacy.
Short version: no account, no email, no tracking. A Desk holds only the numbers you put on it.
The calculator
Numbers typed into the calculator are worked out and shown back to you. They are not saved. The quick question on the home page puts the three amounts in the page address, so they can appear in this site's own server logs like any page address.
A Desk
A Desk stores the plans you save on it (names and amounts you type) and the monthly results you log. It does not ask for your name, email, phone or address, and you should not type personal details into plan names. A Desk is opened by a private key: the server keeps only a scrambled (hashed) copy of it. Your browser keeps the key in a cookie, and the Desk link carries it after the # sign, which browsers do not send to the server.
Anyone holding the link can open, change or delete the Desk, so share it only with people you trust. A Desk nobody opens for 400 days is deleted, unless it has a running Desk Pass. You can delete a Desk yourself at any time.
Cookies
Two cookies, both needed for the site to work: one holds your Desk key, one protects forms against forgery. No analytics, advertising or third-party cookies.
Server records
To stop abuse, the site counts requests per address per hour using a salted hash of the address, and deletes those counts after two days. Nightly database backups are kept for 14 days. The web server keeps ordinary access logs.
Payments
Payments are not switched on yet. When they are, PayPal will handle them; this site will keep only PayPal's subscription reference and the dates the Pass runs.
Children
The site is for adults planning a business. It collects no personal information about anyone, including children.
